To have a lasting academic impact, we believe tutoring should offer students more than content mastery. That's why our tutors begin every session by reinforcing key study skills that students can use throughout their education.
Toolkit Tutors offers school-based tutoring programs based on the High-Impact Tutoring (HIT) model by the EdResearch for Action initiative, which has been shown to significantly improve student learning outcomes. Our programs incorporate 4 key HIT elements:
Tutoring sessions are held three or more times per week to ensure consistent and intensive support.
Small group settings capped at four students per tutor, allowing for personalized attention and instruction.
Continuous use of data and informal assessments to tailor instruction to each student’s needs.
Ensuring students have a consistent, highly skilled tutor to build strong, supportive relationships that enhance learning.
High-impact tutoring programs are a major investment for schools, with funding not always guaranteed. That’s why our tutors begin each session by focusing on a high-leverage study skill that students can use when they are studying independently. Our study skills curriculum is short, sharp, and hits the top 3 skills students need to become confident independent learners.
Our tutors will teach your students two research-backed note-taking strategies, and conduct weekly spot-checks and guidance.
Students will learn how to create a realistic study schedule they can actually stick to. Each week, tutors will help each students review their schedule to ensure remains updated and effective
